Good but not 5 star. The sushi was average and the place was kinda a whole in the wall which doesn't necessarily bother me if your food makes up for it. The rolls were pretty small, I had higher expectations for the reviews it had.

I heard so much hype about this place, so I had to try it! It was alright but nothing special. I had the kiss of death, dragon in red, tempura dynamite, spider, and kick ass rolls. Their yaki tori was not on skewers as I would expect and was just glazed with teriyaki sauce. They were not only quite small rolls (not comparing MS size rolls) for $72 but was really not worth it. Most of their rolls have cream cheese and tempura shrimp is what I find odd. Not much variety other than the name of each roll. The kick ass roll was the strangest...not in a good way because they just threw everything they had into it. If I was in the area, I would probably go back but not make a special trip to here. People like this place probably of the BYOB policy. The place is quite small and LOUD when it gets packed. There are other better sushi places to eat.

When you think of Mississippi, you think Southern cooking; fried chicken, hush puppies, grits - comfort food. You don't think sushi. Imagine my surprise then to find that sushi is quite prevalent in the south or at least along the coast of Mississippi. Of the many sushi restaurants located in the Biloxi area (many of them, oddly enough, owned and operated by Vietnamese people) Chef Scott's Restaurant is the best. The sushi here is delicious in a way that is difficult to articulate, suffice it to say it surpasses many of the sushi places that I've been to on either coast, from California to Washington, DC. The rolls are tightly wrapped, the rice is just right, and there is flavor in every part of the roll, not just the center. I don't really think there is a bad roll in the place, as I've yet to have one that wasn't to my liking. Prices average about $9 for a standard roll with 8 pieces, up to $15 for the special rolls. Based on the food alone, this place would get five starts from me, except that space-wise, it's quite small. Very intimate and cozy, which can be nice, except for when it's packed, as it often is. On those occasions the place becomes quite loud and if you're eating with a friend, you find yourself trying to talk over the tables beside you, which gets quite annoying. Also, not that it matters to me much, but this place doesn't have a liquor license so if you'd like to imbibe, BYOB.

I don't know where these great ratings are coming from. If this is where the best sushi in Biloxi is, I feel sad for the city. All of the ingredients taste like they're straight from the can. It's my responsibility as a human to warn others of this disgusting restaurant.

Definitely my favorite sushi place. Has spoiled me for any other sushi. I am by no means a culinary expert, but Chef Scott's sushi is truly something special. His presentation - delicate to complex flavors - and one-a-kind offerings are just some of the things that draw me back again and again. My sister-in-law comes to the Coast from Chicago at least once a year, she always schedules a minimum of 3 visits to Chef Scott's. And with all the sushi restaurants in Chi-town, she still says this place is the best. My recommendations: Calamari (you'll never be satisfied with others again), the KGB Roll (topped with fresh blue crab), the seaweed salad (It's just better) and the incredible Bong Roll (you'll have to taste it to believe it), along with all the usual sushi offerings (the freshest raw sushi). If you go, you're in for a treat!

This is the best sushi on the coast. I've eaten chef Scott's sushi for several years now and have always been absolutely thrilled with my experience. As a long time patron I would suggest the following: Calamari, JB's Salad and/or Tuna tartar as an appetiser. Follow that with the bong roll, the KGB roll or the birthday cake roll and you will leave happy!! Be warned the place is small so prime time lunch and dinner can be a wait, but well worth it!
